The SAJKA National Championships were held at Emirates Indoor Arena earlier this year.

Two full days of competition, run on eight mats and under the watchful eyes of more than 200 referees, this is one of the biggest championships in South Africa.

There were almost 4 000 entries and over 200 divisions.

Forty-one members of the club were selected to represent the SAJKA Gauteng team at the event where they excelled with 25 of them being awarded SAJKA National Colours. In total the club brought home 29 medals, eight gold, six silver and 15 bronze.

The club together with Bassonia JKA took the second-highest medal count at the event which is a huge achievement for the club.

The club opened their spectacular new dojo in October and they are situated at 126 Hennie Alberts Street in Brackenhurst.

Classes for all ages are held weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays with special Dinky classes for the little ones ages four to seven.
