WATCH: Smokehouse Restaurant opened in style

Great eatery in the south of Johannesburg.

The Smokehouse Restaurant at The View in Kibler Park enjoyed a grand opening on March 2.

The restaurant is perched at Plot 9011, Old Vereeniging Service Road. It is a great eatery for family, friends and businesses.

It shows the excellence that the South could offer.

This was a relaunch of the restaurant as it was first opened in 2017. In welcoming the guests, Margaret-Ann Diedricks said they have a huge task in their hands and they want the establishment to grow organically.

“People must want to come here. Smoking meat is a big thing here, as there are different ways of preparing it. You will always find that everything will be smoked here hence the name. Our smoker machine, Black Jack, will do the trick,” she said.

Razia Diedricks talked about sustainability. “With power on and off in the country you have to find a way to sustain the business. We have grey water system to water our garden.

“We often use our harvest on the menu. We also do recycling. Again there’s no business growth when you don’t grow your human resource, which is why we have a great staff and great retention. We empower our staff hence we partnered with The Culinarian Chefs Academy,” she said.

Kelvin Joel from the academy said for them it is about building people because if you don’t look out for your people, the business won’t grow.

Other guests included Women Paying it Forward SA, Nicky Vakaloudis from SOJO and Pastor Aljay Haskins to name a few.
