Great cleaning initiative by Turffontein beauties

Dirty streets and parks must not be a norm.

Beauty princesses of Turffontein recently got their hands dirty by cleaning around Rotunda Park in Turffontein.

This was a joint venture by volunteers, including Lethabo Mokhemisa (Miss Teen Turffontein 2022), Nomfundo Dhludhlu (Miss Turffontein 2022) and Athenkosi Bouw (second princess of Miss Turffontein 2022).

Bouw said it has sadly become a norm to have dirty streets and parks in our communities, which is why she took this initiative to ensure the community is clean.

“Cleaning Rotunda Park was the first step. I still plan to decrease the pollution all around Turffontein and Kenilworth.

“This project aims to encourage our community to live in a clean environment by taking care of the areas where they stay and also attempting to make the world a cleaner place. I also hope that soon this project grows into an organisation so we can help as many communities as possible to stay clean. We say #GoCleanTurffontein,” she said.
