Young Sheldon dominates in the ring
Sheldon ‘The IG Brawler’ Stols will soon start his amateur career as he is hoping to be graded in the next coming months following his recent win.
It was a jubilant moment for young Sheldon ‘The IG Brawler’ Stols after stealing the show at a white-collar boxing event on March 31 in Germiston.
The Verwoerdpark boxer, who aspires to be a boxing world champ, went head-to-head with Ross ‘The Terminator’ Cambell. In a bout scheduled for three rounds, he impressively won by a points decision.
Young Sheldon said with hard work and having kept faith he came out victorious.
“I’m ready for my amateur career. I have a mission and a dream and no one will stand in my way of reaching it. The IG Brawler will be coming with a bang. I had the first round as I was landing some combos and also put a lot of pressure on my opponent by coming forward the whole time,” Sheldon said.
He said his opponent came back in the second round and showed that he was not backing down.
“But that didn’t stop me from doing what I was taught by my coach. I kept the pressure on my opponent as I kept pushing forward. In the third round my corner man Johnny Koen said I should keep doing what I did and to stay with the one-two,” he explained.
He went into the third round and kept the pressure on with the ‘one-two’ combinations and also landed a couple of uppercuts as he noticed his opponent kept dropping his head.
Sheldon strongly believes he has the heart, dedication, discipline and faith to one day become a world champion.
“Step by step I will build experience and climb the ladder to the top. I would like to thank the Lord as nothing would be possible without Him. I thank the Immortal Guardians for all the support and motivation, coach Sylvester Zaki and cornerman Johnny Koen for preparing me for my fight,” he said.
He also thanked his father Jacques and his mother Claudette for supporting him all the way.
“Thanks to my sister Abby for her prayer in the ring before my flight. A new lion is entering the amateur ranks soon, remember this name Sheldon The IG Brawler.”
