Heal Better asks for community help to keep oncology patients warm
As it is winter, the Heal Better organisation would like to host a blanket drive and pleads for public help.
Non-profit organisation Heal Better is asking for the public’s support in their mission to keep cancer patients healthy and warm.
Heal Better assist vulnerable and underprivileged individuals with cancer as no human being should ever suffer loss of dignity as a result of poor health. They also endeavour for survivors to regain their self-esteem.
According to the founder of Heal Better, Jocelyn Moodley, cancer patients are in need of blankets during this winter season, especially children with cancer.
Load-shedding and uncertainty increases the burden of cancer diagnosis. Therefore, they plead with individuals to lessen the burden of those who are disadvantaged and struggling to cope.
Individuals who are willing to help can contribute R150 to help the organisation in its drive to purchase blankets in bulk to help in the oncology wards or they can drop a blanket at Blue Crane Ridge (new Checkers Centre) in Meyersdal.
