Upper Room Christian Centre prays for Johannesburg south communities
Upper Room Christian Centre and various organisations took prayer to the streets of Johannesburg south. The aim of the prayer was to restore the dignity of the community.
A strong sense of spiritual upliftment filled the streets as members of the Upper Room Christian Centre and other churches in Johannesburg gathered at Video Town in La Rochelle on November 11.
The purpose of the gathering was to go on a prayer walk and pray for Rosettenville and the neighbouring communities.

The gathering started with the singing of the National Anthem, a prayer and song as they proceeded from Prairie Street into the heart of Rosettenville. There was a brief pause at every street corner and every significant building in the suburb where prayers were done and declarations made.
According to the event organiser, Jackie Crosson, people in the neighbourhood were open to accepting the Word of God and giving their hearts to the Lord, and there was a hunger for it.
“We have witnessed the homeless, drug addicts, and sex workers, those whom society shrugged off because of their unconventional lifestyles, getting the love and care of Jesus Christ,” said Jackie.

“We saw hurting people from broken down flats come out to receive the Word, a word of encouragement. We saw tears in their eyes as they asked for prayers to be shared, prostitutes, drug addicts and the homeless all coming out to receive prayer and looking for some sort of breakthrough. The residents welcomed the anointing of the streets as they knew it was desperately needed in the community. Even the local businesses asked for prayers of protection over their business.
“The procession came to an end at JC Lucas Park in Rosettenville, where more people gave their lives to God, decrees and declarations were made, and the Word of God was presented. They thanked the Lord Jesus Christ for allowing the community to embrace his blessings on a different occasion.
“We would like to give heartfelt thanks to all those who came out from the various ministries to support our mission. May God bless the Johannesburg south residents. May we continue to pray for Rosettenville and surrounding areas and trust God for healing, deliverance, and restoration,” concluded Jackie.
