Search sees stolen car recovered, man arrested

The police said the suspect has a history of possessing stolen vehicles. It was also discovered that he used a fake ID.

The morning of January 6 saw a search conducted in the Brackenhurst area after a stolen vehicle was reportedly spotted on Hennie Alberts Street.

Fox Security officers searched the vicinity extensively, which led to the vehicle being spotted with the suspect still inside.

Officers approached the suspect and found he was trying to sell the stolen car to an unsuspecting individual. SAPS members were called to the scene, who arrested the suspect and took him into custody.

When authorities processed the suspect, they found he had a long history of possessing stolen vehicles. Further investigations revealed he had used a fake identity document, leading to an additional criminal charge.

The SAPS urges the public to report suspicious activities to their nearest police station or call 10 111 for emergencies.
