Class of 2024: Alberton High School celebrates excellence

The students are now ready for the next stage of their lives.

The excitement was palpable at Alberton High School as the matric class of 2024 received their results. The school’s top achievers were beaming with pride, marking the culmination of years of hard work and dedication.

Nine learners from the school achieved outstanding results, earning them the top spots in the Class of 2024. Leading the pack is Alyson Cherry, who achieved an impressive seven distinctions with an overall percentage of 91%.

Saien Venketsamy and Emma Connel followed closely, each securing seven distinctions with overall percentages of 88% and 86% respectively.

Other top achievers from the school include Sicelo Makhanya, Ruby Thomas, Lamia Kader, Khwezi Mazibuko, Tahillah Steyn, and Alexis Bell-Simmonds, who each earned multiple distinctions in various subjects.

The school’s acting principal, Natasha le Grange, expressed pride and admiration for the matriculants’ achievements.

“The results are proof of the dedication, commitment, and excellence that has been the foundation of Alberton High School for 50 years. Congratulations to our matriculants. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.”

The school also took the opportunity to thank the teachers who played a significant role in shaping the learners’ academic journey, particularly those who laid the foundation with the group back in 2020 when they started Grade Eight.

As the matriculants embark on the next stage of their lives, Alberton High School’s exceptional results serve as a testament to the school’s commitment to academic excellence and the hard work and determination of its learners.
