Hoërskopl Marais Viljoen High School confirms learner safe after road incident

The learner was checked by doctors as a precaution and was back at school later the same day.

Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School has confirmed that a learner involved in a road incident on Penzance Street was assessed and is safe.

According to the school, the incident took place on January 26, and school staff responded immediately when they became aware of the situation.

The learner was travelling in private transport at the time of the accident and was the only learner in the vehicle.

“As a precaution, the learner was taken to the hospital for a full medical examination. Doctors thoroughly assessed the learner, whom they cleared with no injuries,” said the school in a statement.

The school further confirmed that the learner returned to school later on the same day.

The school appreciates the concern of parents and community members, and reiterated that the safety and well-being of learners remain the top priority at the school.
