UPDATE: CoE cleans Kromvlei Cemetery after residents complain

Resident complaints of poor maintenance saw the CoE carry out a multi-day clean-up at the Kromvlei Cemetery.

Izak Berg of the Independent Ratepayers Association of South Africa confirmed that the Kromvlei Cemetery has since been cleaned after public complaints about its state.

Berg told the Alberton Record the clean-up took place from January 26 to 29.

The update comes after residents complained about graves covered by grass cuttings, scattered bottles, and torn plastic bags filled with grass cuttings left behind after the municipal team mowed.

Residents have been frustrated, saying they had waited almost a year for the grass to be mown, only to face another battle to have the waste removed.
