Swift action by security company leads to arrests in Alberton
CPS Security thanked its control room, reaction units and the SAPS for the collaboration.
On February 18, in a series of coordinated operations, CPS Security and local law enforcement agencies apprehended multiple people involved in criminal activities across Alberton.
House breaker apprehended in Alberton North
A vigilant resident’s call to the CPS control room resulted in the arrest of a person on Van Riebeeck Street, Alberton North, who had forcibly entered the premises and was swiftly detained by the CPS reaction units.
The homeowner identified the person as the same one who had tried to break in the previous night but had fled on foot. The Alberton SAPS have the person in custody.
Drug deal disrupted on Padstow Road, New Redruth

A collaboration between EMPD traffic wardens and CPS Security foiled a drug transaction on Padstow Road.
Reaction officers responded and arrested a person found with Mandrax.
They were charged and are in custody at the Alberton SAPS.
Suspected thief caught in Brackenhurst
A CPF member’s quick thinking led to the capture of a suspected thief on Roy Cambel Street, Brackenhurst.
They reported an unknown man entering a residential property, prompting immediate action from the CPS reaction units.
With help from the Brackendowns SAPS, officers arrested the thief while he was trying to steal tools from the premises.
He was charged accordingly and is in custody.
These incidents prove the importance of community vigilance and effective collaboration between security services and law enforcement in maintaining safety in Alberton.
