A break-in during the early hours of March 19 resulted in the arrest of a suspect a few hours later.
The incident happened at Deneysville – a small town on the banks of the Vaal Dam.
The Deneysville property owner reported the break-in, and an extensive search ensued. “We were contacted by one of our clients stating that one of his properties in the Deneysville area was broken into, as well as two other homes. A suspect was arrested in Eden Park who was found in possession of some of the stolen items,” CPS Security said in a statement.
The distance between Eden Park and Deneysville is more than 77km. A cellphone trace stolen during the break-in led officers to Eden Park and a follow-up on information led to the suspect’s arrest.
