Operation starts with parade, briefing in Kliprivier

With crime on the rise, law enforcement and community leaders launched a targeted operation to boost safety and strengthen partnerships.

Operation Shanela started with a parade at the Sky City Mall on March 20.

It marked the start of a day focused on strengthening community safety and improving crime-fighting in the area.
The event began with a prayer and reading the code of conduct. Brigadier Sphiwe Ndwandwe welcomed all the participants and outlined the operation’s key objectives.

He highlighted the most pressing crime concerns facing theKliprivier and Meyerton police stations, stressing the importance of vigilance and dedication throughout the day’s proceedings.

Following the parade, a briefing session was held at the Sibonile School for the Visually Impaired, led by Major General Nkhensani Adelaide Mukwevho and her management team.

The session drew representatives from the Department of Community Safety and station commanders from the Kliprivier and Meyerton SAPS.

During the briefing, the station commanders presented detailed profiles of their respective stations, including their challenges and the crime trends in their precincts.

This open exchange of information fostered more collaboration between the police and the community, enabling more effective crime prevention and response strategies.

The session strengthened the relationship between law enforcement and the public, encouraging a shared commitment to enhancing safety and security.
