CPS Security brave gunfire during Brackenhurst robbery response
CPS Security officers were shot at during a chase after a house robbery in Brackenhurst, while a separate joint operation with Alberton SAPS led to a business burglary arrest.
CPS Security officers were shot at on May 24 while responding to a house robbery in Giraffe Street, Brackenhurst Extension 2.
According to CPS Security, their reaction officers pursued four suspects who fled across the R59 highway.
Despite the gunfire during the foot chase, the officers were unharmed and remained undeterred.
The team recovered several stolen items, including televisions, laptops, cash, and other valuables.
However, the suspects escaped into a nearby veld and are still at large.
“Thank you to the quick thinking of the resident who reported the accident and the bravery of our reaction officers,” said CPS Security in a Facebook post.
In a separate incident, CPS Security and Alberton SAPS joined forces to solve a business break-in in Alberton.
One suspect was arrested and is facing charges of business breaking and possession of stolen property.
Two additional suspects confirmed the identity of the main perpetrator, who allegedly carried out the break-in with an accomplice who remains on the run.

Some stolen items, including air guns, power tools, and extension cords, were recovered through several tools. However, they are still missing and may have been sold to local pawn shops.
CPS Security encourages anyone with information about the missing items or the outstanding suspect to come forward.
