43 illegal immigrants nabbed in multi area crime blitz

Joint operation targets Brackendowns, Palm Ridge, and Alrode as arrests are made for drugs and immigration violations

A high-density police operation was carried out on June 23 in the Brackendowns policing district and outside Palmridge near Alrode.

The operation led to the arrest of 43 illegal immigrants and three suspects on drug-related charges.

Supported by Fox Security and multiple stakeholders, the operation aimed to reduce crime and restore safety in the area.

The coordinated effort included specialised units such as:

a roadblock team equipped with licence plate recognition technology, a saturation patrol team, the Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Spaza Shop and Tavern Compliance Team.

Several searches were conducted throughout the area, and the combined efforts yielded notable results.

“This operation was not just about arrests; it was about visibility, deterrence, and community assurance,” said Fox Security owner Franswa de Lange.

“Our presence, combined with that of our partners, sent a strong message: crime has no place here.”

The success of the operation was made possible through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and private security firms.

Key partners included:

• Fox Security

• SAPS

• EMPD

• Gauteng Traffic Department

• Brackendowns CPF and CPFs

• Community in Blue Patrollers

• Department of Home Affairs

• TSG Security, CPS Security, and Sentinel Security

The operation underscores the importance of partnerships in the fight against crime. By working together, these stakeholders sent a clear message to offenders and made meaningful progress towards a safer community.
