Kliprivier SAPS welcomes successful convictions in robbery and immigration-related cases
Kliprivier SAPS welcomes the successful convictions and sentencing of two undocumented foreign nationals sentenced to direct imprisonment with deportation recommendations, and three armed robbery accused each receiving 11-year prison terms
The SAPS in the Sedibeng District, through Kliprivier SAPS, has welcomed the successful convictions and sentencing handed down in several serious criminal matters investigated within the Kliprivier policing precinct.
On May 25, on behalf of station commander Lieutenant Colonel LJ Mofokeng, the station praised the investigating officers and members involved for their dedication and professionalism in ensuring justice was served.
In May, an undocumented foreign national was found guilty and sentenced to four months’ direct imprisonment.
The accused was also declared unfit to possess a firearm, while the court further recommended deportation upon completion of the sentence.
In another case, a second undocumented foreign national was found guilty and sentenced to four months’ imprisonment.
The court similarly declared the accused unfit to possess a firearm and recommended deportation after serving the sentence.
Both matters were successfully investigated by Constable Mabele, whose dedication and commitment contributed towards the successful prosecution of the cases.
In a case of armed robbery in December 2025, all three accused were found guilty and each sentenced to 11 years’ imprisonment.
The investigating officer in the armed robbery matter was Detective Koaho, whose professionalism and persistence ensured the successful finalisation of the case.
The station commander further commended all members involved for their professionalism, dedication, and continued efforts in combating crime within the community.
