Alberton SAPS joins hands with congregants to combat crime
Members of Alberton SAPS come together with local congregants to discuss ways of combating crime within their policing precinct.
Members of Alberton SAPS led by station commander Colonel Oliven Letloenyane recently gathered with members from different congregations in sector three of their policing precinct.
In a gathering attended by CPF members, they engaged in ways to best solve crime in local communities.
According to Captain Manare Ramotshela of Alberton SAPS, one of the preachers informed them of their difficulties and criminal elements occurring in the community.
“Churches will ask their congregants to assist with prayers and if they may have any information, they will provide that information to the police – who are well-trained to take action. The station commander advised the house to bring information to the police, give their contact numbers and let the police do their job,” he said.
Ramotshela said the men and women in blue will always be there to serve the community.
“Should you wish to report any crime, you may come to the station, see our station commander or speak to our operational commander Colonel Makopo on 082 461 3495. You may also contact our client service centre on 071 675 6872/76,” he explained.
