Alberton SAPS officer hits the ground running

Newly appointed officer, Constable Nompumelelo Nhlapo, who recently joined the police station, is resolute on bringing new energy and strong work ethics.

Newly appointed Alberton SAPS officer Constable Nompumelelo Nhlapo, who has been in the force since 2017, will stop at nothing to achieve something.

She is now embarking on a new journey after taking up a post at Alberton SAPS, working under procurement. She joined the station on February 1.

Nhlapo previously served at Vosloorus SAPS as a communication officer and is now taking up a new challenge in the station’s supply chain management.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in the motion picture medium, which she believes her qualification became instrumental in the success of her career.

“I’m a determined individual who will stop at nothing to serve my community. I started in crime prevention when I first joined the force. In 2019, I joined the Vosloorus SAPS communication office as a media liaison officer under the watchful eye of Captain Piet Rossouw,” she said.

Alberton SAPS station commander Colonel Olven Letloenyane welcomes Constable Nompumelelo Nhlapo.

The Alberton SAPS police station has welcomed her with open arms and she is already hitting the ground running, thanks to the help of her mentors.

“I am focusing on procurement, which deals with the things we supply to our members in assisting the Alberton community. We ensure we don’t run out of materials or stationery,” Nhlapo said.

Citing that she has a long journey ahead, she said, “I’m looking forward to enhancing my career.”
