WATCH: Miss Girls with Hope pageant ends on a high note

The pageant aims to give young girls confidence and encourage them to embrace their beauty.

Girls with Hope Foundation held Miss Girls with Hope 2024 on May 11 at Eden Park Hall.

The constants were judged on their walk, confidence on the stage, eye contact with the judges and the crowd, and how they answered questions.

They modelled in swimwear, sportswear, and eveningwear outfits.

“Our children do not even know how it feels to be in an evening gown. They thanked me for allowing them to be part of the Miss Girls with Hope pageant,” highlighted Beatrice Dortley, founder of Girls with Hope Foundation.

According to Dortley, Miss Girls with Hope was held for the second time this year and the pageant was progressing well.

“This is my second pageant and I can proudly say that myself and my team did much better. We are getting there.”

Girls with Hope pageant gathers young girls as companions and makes them a family that encourages each other and cheers for one another.

Contestants are modelling in their evening wear outfits on stage.

Dortley said, “My main judge was Nthabiseng Williams, whom I want to thank. She is an amazing person and also sponsors our models and dancers. Angell Lee Johnson, Miss Johannesburg, helped me out and agreed to be a judge after a judge dropped me at the last minute.

“I would also like to thank Hamilton Jacobs, one of our sponsors. He always goes all out to help and encourage me.

“Thank you Aunt Beryl Durman an ‘angel’ from heaven, always makes sure that my events are looking good with her décor.”

The pageant’s 2024 winners:

Tamsin Brown – Miss Girls with Hope

Temika Thoele – first princess

Luchandre Swarts – second princess

Dortley said as encouragement to the girls who took part in the pageant but did not get to be on the top three of the pageant, “I encourage the rest of the girls who participated in the pageant Craidwileen Minnie, Jeniqua Cornelius, Brihanna Waterboer, and Deolene Magopa to keep embracing their beauty and try again next year.”

Tamsin Brown was crowned as Miss Girls with Hope 2024.
