Brackendowns community celebrated stronger partnerships between residents, SAPS and private security at a fun-filled day jam-packed with activities for young and old.

Members of the Brackendowns CPF, SAPS, Special Operations Group (SOG), Sentinel Security, CPS Security and Fox Security joined children, parents and residents for a day of colour, games and community spirit at the Colour Chaos event held at Brackendowns SAPS.

The initiative, organised by the Brackendowns CPF, aimed to strengthen relationships between the community, law enforcement and private security through fun-filled activities and teamwork.

Participants took part in a variety of games, including colour chaos, egg-on-a-spoon races, egg tosses, hula hoop races and tug of war, creating an atmosphere of friendly competition and laughter.

Speaking at the event, Tracey Owgan of the Brackendowns CPF said the collaboration was all about bringing people together.

“What we did is that we decided to collaborate so we can bring the community together. This was for us to bond together and have fun together,” she said.

The CPF said one of the goals was to help residents see a different side of the people who help keep their community safe.

“Hopefully, it encourages the community to remember that law enforcement and security are actually also just people, and can also be fun and relatable,” the CPF said.

The Brackendowns CPF thanked everyone who attended the event and acknowledged the support of SAPS, Special Operations Group (SOG), Sentinel Security, CPS Security and Fox Security for helping make the day a success.
