The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) has submitted its certified general valuation roll for 2025-2029.
City manager Dr Imogen Mashazi, certified and signed the general valuation roll on January 27.
The general valuation roll is a document that shows how much all residential, business, and commercial properties are worth in Alberton and other areas in CoE.
The document contains an erf or house number, owner’s name, property size and how much your property is worth. General valuation rolls are released every five years.
In reaction to the latest valuations, Dr Imogen Mashazi said: “Our commitment to transparency and fairness in property valuations underscores our dedication to the financial sustainability and growth of Ekurhuleni.
“This valuation roll ensures the city treats all residents equitably, reflecting the true market values of their properties.”
Legislative regulations demand that municipalities publish general valuation rolls. This process ensures total transparency for residents and allows them to review their assessments and, if necessary, object within the stipulated period.
CoE is yet to confirm when the latest general valuation rolls will be released.
The city urges all property owners to take part in inspecting and verifying their properties. Residences’ involvement helps the city maintain an open and fair valuation system that serves the best interests of all community members in the city.
