After 24 years, Broken Wings transform into Blue Wings Association for Adults with Disabilities

The organisation has confirmed that everything is still the same except for the name.

Since 2001, the organisation has been known as Broken Wings, but after 24 years, the committee decided a change was needed.

The committee recently decided to rebrand the organisation, as the previous name, Broken Wings, carried a negative connotation that did not accurately reflect its mission or the spirit of the special adults it serves.

With this in mind, the organisation is proud to announce its new name: Blue Wings Association for Adults with Disability.

This change, officially adopted in January, symbolises positivity, transformation, and new opportunities.

“We’re thrilled to announce our new name,” said Sharon Roberts, the chairperson.

The organisation remains committed to its core purpose-providing quality day care and skills development for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.

At present, there are a few openings for additional members to join the Blue Wings family.

Families or individuals who know someone in need of these services are encouraged to reach out.

Additionally, the organisation is appealing to companies and individuals to sponsor the monthly fees for beneficiaries in need.

Those interested in supporting this initiative or learning more about Blue Wings Association may contact Willemien at 011 907 6743 or 083 408 4643.

Visitors are also welcome at the centre, located at 15 Glen Albyn Street, Raceview.
