An illegal gathering of car enthusiasts caused significant disruption at Kota Joe in Alberton on the evening of June 6.
The unauthorised event resulted in chaos, including public drinking and multiple traffic violations.
In response, Alberton and Brackenhurst SAPS officers, supported by nearby stations, the EMPD, local security companies, and CPF members from Alberton and Brackenhurst, acted swiftly to restore order.
The large crowd quickly dispersed, thanks to their efforts. Vehicles gathered in shopping areas across Alberton were also cleared. Their collective action helped minimise risks to public safety and prevented further disruption to communities.
Authorities remind the public that no one is above the law, and all gatherings must be authorised to ensure residents’ safety and well-being.
