WATCH: Highlights from Eden Park’s successful youth day celebrations

The celebrations were attended by youth, community and church leaders, activists, athletes, local businesses, beauty queens, and entertainers.

Residents of Eden Park held a successful event to commemorate and celebrate Youth Day.

Residents of Eden Park and nearby communities gathered at Datsun Park on Monday, June 16, to observe the holiday.

Proceedings started at JD Thomas Hall, where a prayer walk was led by church leaders, congregants, and members of the broader community.

The walk was followed by a musical band procession to Datsun Park, where the rest of the day’s celebrations took place.

Datsun Park was filled with community and church leaders, activists, athletes, local businesses, beauty queens, and entertainers.

Children were educated about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and were made to do exercises for fun.

The South African National Blood Service was present to assist donors wishing to give blood. Eden Park’s ward councillor, Dino Peterson, attended the event and addressed the community on the importance of Youth Day.

The event also featured fun for the whole family, including children’s games and activities, live music, boxing, worship sessions, food stalls, local crafts, and more.

Residents were visibly excited to attend the event, and the atmosphere was electric. Soup was prepared and served to many of those who were at the event.
