Apple Tree and Meat World celebrate 15 years

Two Alberton favourites, Apple Tree Fresh Food Market and Meat World, mark 15 years of serving the community with gratitude, growth and a spirit of giving back.

Two beloved local businesses, Meat World Alberton and Apple Tree Fresh Food Market, are celebrating a major milestone: 15 years of service to the Alberton community.

Meat World: A journey of growth and gratitude

For Meat World Alberton owners Luis Guimaraes, Angelino Pereira and Carlos Meneses, reaching the 15-year mark is a humbling and proud moment.

“It’s been a journey of hard work, ups and downs, but it’s all been worth it,” the trio said. “We’re lucky to have such great staff—some of them have been with us since the very beginning.”

Since opening in July 2010, Meat World has become a trusted part of the community. “We’re incredibly thankful for our loyal customers and amazing staff. Their support has meant everything,” they shared.

Despite facing challenges over the years, the team remained strong and united. “We believe in giving back to the community and creating a family atmosphere,” the owners added.

As part of that commitment, Meat World supports four local charities. “The people of Alberton have been with us through the good times and the tough ones. We wouldn’t be here without them.”

What sets Meat World apart from other butcheries is the hands-on approach of its owners. Their passion and daily involvement are at the heart of everything they do.

Looking ahead, the team remains focused on growth and community. “The future of Meat World is about continued success and giving back. We want to express our deepest gratitude to our loyal customers and supporters over the past 15 years.”

Apple Tree: Staying true to community values

Although Eugene Gilhaa officially took over Apple Tree in November last year, he’s quickly embraced the responsibility of continuing the business’s strong legacy.

“It wasn’t easy, but we’re happy to have reached this milestone,” Eugene said. “You have to stay positive and just keep going.”

Since taking over, Eugene has worked hard to understand the inner workings of the business. “The biggest challenge was adjusting after the change in ownership. It’s all about learning what’s required to succeed.”

One of Eugene’s key goals is to maintain the existing culture at Apple Tree, a culture rooted in strong relationships with customers, a healthy work environment, and teamwork.

“The Alberton community has remained loyal, and for that we are truly grateful. We look forward to continuing to care for our customers the same way they’ve supported us,” he said.

Like its branches in Edenvale and Linksfield, Apple Tree Alberton regularly gives back through special discount days and pensioners’ deals.

“Being part of a community like Alberton has 100% shaped Apple Tree’s success,” Eugene explained. “Our customers and staff play a huge role in helping the business thrive. Our staff don’t just serve, they ask what customers need and do their best to provide it.”

Apple Tree prides itself on quality service and affordable pricing. As they look to the future, Eugene added, “To our loyal customers and supporters, thank you for your support over the years. Let’s keep moving forward. If there’s anything you’d like to see improved, please visit our website and let us know.”
