Roula Beukes, an organiser, praised the collaboration and highlighted the role played by the parks department.

“The Alberton Parks Department helped us so much. They got stuck in with their brush cutters and cleared weeds and some invasive plants in the area at the back and on the side of the library building. They sprayed weed killer, removed some dead trees and also donated some plants,” she said.

The department also took care of the parking area, pressure washing it to remove sewage residue left from previous spills, ensuring the space is clean and safe for visitors.
