Alberton’s Rovers Football Club’s U6 team played a home game against Edenvale on August 8.
Held at Rovers FC’s soccer grounds on Letaba Street, in Brackendowns, Alberton, it attracted dozens of cheering parents and spectators.
Despite a strong showing, Rovers FC suffered a 2-1 loss to the visitors (Edenvale).
Rovers FC’s Vinesh Pillay said: “We played quite well. I think the team played exceptionally well. We just had some unfortunate goals conceded against us.
“Overall, I think when we made some changes, we improved a lot, and in the second half we did pretty well. I think we could have won that game given we started with our tactics that we were supposed to do in the second half,” added Pillay.
