Kliprivier SAPS brings hope and support to Boitumelo informal settlement

The Kliprivier SAPS and Siyabngena Patrollers brought hope to Boitumelo residents through a clothing drive and educational outreach.

The Kliprivier SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit and Siyabangena Patrollers held an uplifting community outreach in the Boitumelo informal settlement on October 7.

The initiative focused on helping needy residents and addressed some social issues that often lead to crime.

Officers and patrollers distributed second-hand clothing to the community, ensuring that families facing hardship received much-needed relief.

The SAPS educated the community, handing out 100 pamphlets on key issues, such as sexually transmitted diseases, substance abuse and sexual assault awareness.

According to the Kliprivier SAPS, the outreach was part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the relationship between police and the community, while addressing the root causes of criminal behaviour, especially among young people.
