Martins Academy learners lend a helping hand to Stepping Stone Hospice

Martins Academy learners joined hands with Habibi Properties to assist Stepping Stone Hospice, showing compassion through community service.

In a heartwarming act of community service, learners from Martins Academy recently teamed up with Habibi Properties to support Stepping Stone Hospice in Alberton.

The initiative saw learners dedicate their time and energy to cleaning, sorting and preparing preloved items at the hospice’s charity shop.

Their efforts contribute directly to Stepping Stone Hospice’s mission of providing essential care and support to patients, their families and caregivers.

The charity shop plays a vital role in raising much-needed funds to sustain the hospice’s compassionate work.
The collaboration was made possible through the ongoing partnership with Habibi Properties.

“At Martins Academy, we believe in cultivating well-rounded global citizens. Community involvement encourages empathy, teamwork, gratitude and social responsibility, qualities that are as important as academic excellence,” said Melanie Allis, owner of Martins Academy.

This initiative forms part of Martins Academy’s broader commitment to nurturing learners who actively contribute to society, embodying values of service, compassion, and leadership both within and beyond the classroom.
