Creative Academy stands with breast cancer survivors
More than 250 bras donated to help restore dignity for vulnerable women in local communities.
October marked National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Creative Academy Group joined the global effort to raise awareness around breast cancer, its risks, the importance of early detection and the treatments available.
Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent cancers affecting women worldwide, touching countless lives, including many in SA.
In a show of compassion and solidarity, the Creative Academy Group led a community-wide initiative, rallying parents, teachers, and residents to donate new or gently used bras.
This campaign honoured breast cancer survivors and aimed to restore dignity to women who may not have access to such essentials. The academy thanked everyone who supported and donated to this cause.
“On October 31, more than 250 bras were handed over to Lorraine P, a devoted community member who, through her church, supports families in need across Bellavista, Daleside, Walkerville, and Alberton. She was moved by the generosity of our school community.
“At the Creative Academy, giving back is more than a gesture; it is part of who we are. We believe every woman deserves to feel dignified. If we can help, then we absolutely should,” said principal Tarryn Botha.
