Traffic delays on N12 after bakkie crash near Comaro off-ramp

Motorists are urged to drive with caution after a Toyota Hilux lost control and rolled down an embankment near the Comaro off-ramp. Expect delays heading east towards the Reading Interchange.

Traffic delays are expected on the N12 eastbound this afternoon following an accident involving a Toyota Hilux bakkie that lost control and rolled down an embankment near the Comaro off-ramp.

According to information received, the vehicle was travelling westbound towards Comaro when it reportedly aquaplaned on a puddle of water, causing the driver to lose control and collide with the barrier before the vehicle rolled down the embankment.

Fortunately, the driver sustained only minor injuries and was treated on the scene. JML Towing responded swiftly from Comaro and is currently on scene following the accident. All relevant emergency services also responded to the incident.

Motorists travelling on the N12 East from Comaro towards the Reading Interchange are advised to exercise caution and expect delays as recovery operations are still underway.

Drivers are reminded to reduce speed and maintain a safe following distance, especially on wet roads where the risk of aquaplaning is high.
