Haksul Muziq and local entrepreneur launch project to empower Palm Ridge youth
Award-winning artist Haksul Muziq joins forces with businessman Aron Mathabela to create jobs, opportunities, and hope for young people in Palm Ridge through Emzombeni Car Wash and Eatery.
Renowned South African music star Haksul Muziq has partnered with local entrepreneur Aron Mathabela to launch Emzombeni Car Wash and Eatery, a community-driven initiative designed to tackle unemployment and inspire positive change in Palm Ridge.
The project, which has already hired 11 young people, aims to provide meaningful work opportunities and steer youth away from crime and substance abuse.
Mathabela explained his motivation for starting the project.
“I’ve seen how unemployment can affect someone’s health, their mind, their confidence, and everything else in life. This project was born out of a desire to make a real difference in Palm Ridge and offer young people a chance to build their futures,” Mathabela said.
Unlike traditional businesses, the focus of Emzombeni is not primarily on profit.
“Our goal is to generate enough funds to ensure this branch can grow into multiple branches, each creating more jobs and opportunities for the wider Palm Ridge community,” said Mathabela.
The initiative is more than just a business; it is also a creative hub.
Young people will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in music, poetry and dance, creating a platform that nurtures both professional and personal growth.
Haksul Muziq, whose real name is Tokoloho Mavuso, has long been known for his commitment to uplifting communities.
After winning back-to-back South African Music Awards (SAMA) Artist of the Year in 2022 and 2023, he took a year-long break from music to focus on social impact.
During this time, he donated food parcels to thousands of families and provided shoes to school learners, bringing hope to those most in need.
Reflecting on the project, Haksul said that music is a gift from God, but so is the opportunity to serve your community.
“Palm Ridge has given me so much, and I wanted to give back in a way that really matters by creating opportunities and hope for the youth,” the talented artist said.
Born and raised in Ekurhuleni, Haksul began his musical journey at seven and has since become a household name in South African music.
His return to the scene promises a fresh blend of Afro Soul and three-step sounds, while his social initiatives continue to resonate just as strongly as his music.
The community is encouraged to support Aron Mathabela and Haksul Muziq as they work to grow Emzombeni Car Wash and Eatery into a thriving centre of employment, creativity and positive change for Palm Ridge.
