Ekurhuleni launches verification of Public Employment Programme

The employment programme comes to an end in March.

The City of Ekurhuleni has begun verification and auditing of beneficiaries of the Ekurhuleni Public Employment Programme (EPEP) and the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) in February.

The process started on February 25 and will run until March 11 in various parts of Johannesburg.

In the 2024/25 financial year, the city engaged 3 327 beneficiaries of EPEP and EPWP against a target of 3 221 job opportunities.

The verification and audit are aimed at strengthening accountability, ensuring that work opportunities reach those who need them most.

Residents are encouraged to visit the city’s official website, www.ekurhuleni.gov.za, for information on available work opportunities.
