Community urged to donate blankets and food at Brackengate SPAR collection event

Brackendowns CPF is calling on residents to donate blankets and non-perishable food this winter while also giving the community a chance to meet the CPF team, ask questions and learn more about safety in the area

The Brackendowns CPF will host a community donation drive and an informal meet-and-greet on May 16 from 11:00 to 13:00 at the Brackengate SPAR parking lot.

The initiative aims to support families and individuals struggling during the winter season by collecting blankets and non-perishable food items.

Residents are encouraged to donate new or gently used blankets, including old blankets suitable for animals, as well as canned food, pasta, rice, and other non-perishable groceries.

According to the CPF, the event is also an opportunity for residents who cannot attend regular CPF meetings to meet the team in person, ask questions and learn more about what is happening in the area.
Community members will also receive practical safety tips on protecting themselves and their families at home and on the road.

The CPF encouraged residents to support the drive by donating if they can and joining the community effort to help keep others warm and fed this winter.

For donation drop-offs, collections or arrangements, residents can contact Kim on 073 908 5230 or Geoff on 083 411 1144.
