Alberton Lions Club appeals for support in hunger fund food drive

Alberton Lions Club is calling on residents to support its upcoming hunger fund food drives, helping provide essential food hampers to vulnerable families and individuals facing food insecurity in the community

The Alberton Lions Club is once again appealing to the community to lend a helping hand in the fight against hunger by supporting its upcoming hunger fund food collection drives.

The food drives will take place at Bracken City Pick n Pay on June 6 and June 27, from 08:00 to 12:00.

Lions members and Friends of the Lions will be stationed at the store, encouraging shoppers to donate non-perishable food items and essential groceries.

The donations collected will be used to compile food hampers for families and individuals in the Alberton area who are struggling to make ends meet.

The Alberton Lions Club relies on the generosity of residents, businesses and sponsors to continue its community service initiatives.

Funds and food collected during these drives will directly benefit local families and individuals facing food insecurity.

Food collection dates are planned for later in the year and will be announced on the club’s Facebook page.

The Alberton Lions Club encourages everyone to play a part in helping ensure that no one in the community goes hungry.

Together, small acts of kindness can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need.

Community members who are unable to visit the collection points in person can still contribute through the Pick n Pay ASAP app or by making a direct deposit into the club’s Hunger Fund account.
