Alberton Lions Club invites community for free eye testing day

Residents are invited to take free eye testing at Ligstad in Alberton North. The Alberton Lions Eye Clinic will offer vision screenings, free standard readers, and affordable spectacles for the first 80 people

The Alberton Lions Eye Clinic will host a free eye testing day for residents on June 20.

The event will take place at Ligstad, 32 Van Riebeck Avenue, Alberton North, from 09:00 to 12:00.

No appointment is required, allowing community members to walk in and have their eyesight tested free of charge.

Standard reading glasses will be available free to qualifying patients, while spectacles can be ordered for R300. The clinic also offers distance glasses, reading glasses and bifocals.

The Lions Club has announced that only the first 80 people will be assisted on the day, with the last walk-in patient accepted at 12:00.

Residents who require spectacles should note that payment must be made in full before glasses can be ordered.

The initiative forms part of the Lions Bright Sight project, which aims to improve access to eye care services in local communities.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early to avoid disappointment and secure their place among the first patients to be served.
