Alberton Lions Club continues monthly meal drive for pensioners
Alberton Lions Club continues to provide Smart Meals to SASSA pensioners every month, helping elderly residents from care centres in Germiston and Johannesburg South, while appealing for community support to expand its outreach
Alberton Lions Club is continuing its mission to support vulnerable residents through its monthly Smart Meals project, which provides meals to SASSA pensioners living in care centres across Germiston and Johannesburg South.
On the last Monday of every month, members of the club deliver Smart Meals to elderly residents from Corrie Oberholzer Centre and Sonskyn in Germiston, as well as Karina Place and Northam Place in Johannesburg South.
The initiative aims to provide additional support to pensioners who often face financial challenges and food insecurity.

Description: Alberton Lions Club
“Our dedicated team delivers meals to our SASSA pensioners on the last Monday of the month. We are humbled and grateful to serve the elderly in our community and to provide a little extra support when it is needed most.
“We appeal to corporates, businesses and members of the public to assist us with donations and sponsorships so that we can continue feeding and supporting those in need,” said Lion Riekie Foster.
Through the initiative, the club seeks to bring relief to elderly residents while promoting dignity, care and community support.

The Alberton Lions Club appeals to businesses, corporates, and members of the public to assist through donations and sponsorships to ensure the project can continue to reach those in need.
The club said food donations, grocery items and financial contributions of any size can make a meaningful difference and help support more vulnerable families, pensioners and individuals facing hardship.
Residents and businesses interested in supporting the initiative or partnering with the club can contact the Alberton Lions Club on 067 748 4574.
