The Alberton Lions Club is encouraging residents to celebrate Mandela Day by taking part in its annual R67 donation campaign, inspired by Nelson Mandela’s legacy of service and compassion.

The campaign, taking place ahead of Mandela Day on July 18, invites members of the community to donate R67, with every contribution going towards providing meals for SASSA pensioners and children attending local crèches supported by the club.

According to the campaign, a donation of R67 can help feed up to 16 children, highlighting how a small act of kindness can have a significant impact on those in need.

Funds raised will assist the Alberton Lions Club in continuing its community feeding programmes and support for an early childhood development centre.

The Alberton Lions Club calls on businesses, organisations and individuals to join the initiative, reminding the community that every donation, no matter how small, contributes towards making a positive difference.
