The Alberton Lions Club is inviting the community to take part in a hands-on workshop where volunteers will help create sensory activity mats for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and activity bands for children with autism on July 25, from 12:00 to 16:00 at the upstairs venue at Reading Golf Course.

Sensory activity mats are designed to provide comfort and stimulation for people with Alzheimer’s by encouraging touch and interaction, while activity bands help children with autism develop sensory and fine motor skills.

No special skills are needed to participate and all the materials required for the workshop will be provided.

Participants are, however, welcome to bring along snacks or treats to share with others during the afternoon.

Alberton Lions Club hope the workshop will bring the community together while creating meaningful items that can improve the daily lives of people facing these challenges.
