A business idea sparked by a furniture delivery in Alberton has grown into a new logistics management platform designed to help small and medium-sized transport operators simplify their daily operations.

Loadmin.io, founded in 2025 by Alberton resident Samuel Takarinda, recently launched Version 1.0 of its web-based platform.

Although the startup operates remotely, Takarinda said its roots are firmly planted in Alberton.

“I was raised right here in Alberton, attended Alberview Primary School and Alberton High School, and still live in town today,” he said.

The inspiration behind the platform came from a simple local experience.

“We ordered a piece of furniture from a local store in town, but they had no available drivers or vehicles to handle the delivery. They had to spend time calling around to find local guys with bakkies and trucks to transport it for us,” explained Takarinda.

After researching the logistics industry further, the founder identified a broader challenge.

“We realised there was a much bigger problem. A significant number of logistics companies and local businesses that manage their own vehicle fleets have no software to run their delivery operations. Instead, most still rely on pen and paper, cumbersome spreadsheets or endless WhatsApp messages to coordinate drivers and track deliveries,” he said.

Loadmin.io is designed as an all-in-one digital platform for transport businesses, offering digital load and delivery tracking, driver and vehicle management, and tools to streamline administrative workflows.

While the platform has officially gone live, Takarinda said the team sees the launch as just the beginning.

“We are by no means finished. We are deeply committed to continuous learning, building, and evolving the platform to make it even better for our users. To do that, we need real-world feedback,” he said.

Loadmin.io is inviting local transport and logistics companies to participate in a free trial.

“We are officially opening up free trials for local companies who want to test the tool, optimise their delivery operations, and help us shape the future of Loadmin.io. As an Alberton local, I wanted businesses right here in our own town to be the very first to benefit from this opportunity,” said Takarinda.

With its origins in Alberton and a focus on supporting smaller transport operators, the startup hopes local businesses will play a key role in shaping the future of the platform.
