WATCH: 14 injured after Quantum crashes on R59 in Alberton

One person sustained serious injuries, while 13 others were taken to various hospitals following the R59 northbound collision in Alberton.

Fourteen people, including the driver, were injured after a Quantum crashed on the R59 northbound in Alberton yesterday morning.

The accident happened at approximately 08:35, with emergency services responding to the scene.

According to William Ntladi, spokesperson for the Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), the vehicle was found lying on its side.

“One sustained serious injuries,” Ntladi said.

The injured passengers, including the driver, were transported to various hospitals for medical treatment.

Palm Ridge rescue firefighters, DEMS, ER24 and other emergency services attended the scene.

Ntladi said the circumstances surrounding the crash are not yet known.
