Laerskool Orion’s netball team secures sixth place in Gauteng playoffs

Laerskool Orion’s U12A netball team impressed during the Gauteng playoffs, ending the competition in sixth place overall after a series of determined performances.

Laerskool Orion’s U12A netball team has earned recognition for an outstanding showing during the Gauteng playoffs, finishing sixth overall in the province.

The school congratulated the team on what it described as a “special achievement” and praised the players for their efforts throughout the competition. According to the school, “Our U12A netball team performed excellently during the Gauteng playoffs” and “finished sixth overall in Gauteng”, adding that it is “a special achievement that we are incredibly proud of.”

The Ories recorded victories over Constantiapark (11–10), Rynfield (11–5), Kenmare (12–6), Spectrum (23–6), Rethabiseng (18–11), Rissiville (12–5) and Elardus Park (14–9). The team also finished as the winners of Pool D. Close defeats followed against Menlopark (10–9) and Randhart (13–12).

Reflecting on the campaign, the school commended everyone involved, saying: “Congratulations to every player and coach for your hard work, perseverance and dedication throughout the season. You represented the Ories with pride, and we are incredibly proud of this achievement.” The message concluded with further praise for the squad: “Well done, girls. You are true Orie champions!”
