Meyersdal’s Plato Plaas Toe runners take it to the hills of the suburb
PTT members challenged themselves to one of the hardest runs to be taken by the club’s runners.

Meyersdal’s Plato Plaas Toe (PTT) members recently took their running exercise to the hilly streets of some of Johannesburg’s southern suburbs.
Dubbed ‘PPT Hill Route 2, more than two dozen runners participated in running.

PTT members gathered at their starting point on the corner of Nelson Mandela Avenue and Blue Crane Drive in Meyersdal at 05:45.
They ran up Nelson Mandela Avenue until they curved onto Bellairs Drive towards Comaro Street.
Runners felt the pressure on Comaro Street, as it was steeper than the first two roads, but they kept it moving and supporting each other throughout the route.

They raced past Bassonia and the southern bypass while remaining on Comaro Street.
PTT runners ultimately joined the middle lane towards Auteniqua Avenue, heading towards Oakdene. They then took a turn at the Townsview Church Climb, circling back to Meyersdal via Oak Avenue.
Back on Comaro Street, again they got on Bellairs Drive, heading towards Nelson Mandela Avenue.
The hill route ended on Blue Crane Drive, next to the shopping mall.

They covered about 16 kilometres.
As PTT tradition goes, the runners gathered at the Plato Plaas Toe coffee shop for refreshments and much-needed calm. They also used the opportunity to take pictures.
