Help Valhalla youth to raise the SA flag high

Valhalla MMA & Fitness, based in Alberton North, has long been a flagship academy for producing top-tier MMA and grappling athletes, from children as young as five to professional adults competing at the EFC level.

The academy also boasts a strong contingent of athletes who compete internationally, particularly at the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) All Africa and World Championships, held annually in Namibia and the UAE.

Valhalla’s youth athletes train diligently to progress through provincial and national trials in hopes of earning a place on the South African national team. Once selected, they have the opportunity to represent the country on the world stage in Abu Dhabi and earn their prestigious Protea colours.

However, funding for these trips is left to the athletes themselves, and unfortunately, many are unable to attend due to financial constraints – a harsh reality that often prevents them from realising their dreams.

“We ask our community to help us support these young athletes, their coaches, and support staff as they begin their annual fundraising drive. All sponsorships, big or small, are welcome and deeply appreciated,” said coach Shane Carr.

This year, Valhalla MMA has 12 individuals who need financial support to make the journey. “We’re always looking for sponsors or donations, no matter how small, to help our youth cover the costs necessary to compete at the World Championships and represent our beautiful country,” Carr added.

Individuals or businesses can contribute cash or donate items to be raffled for fundraising purposes. If you have fundraising opportunities to offer, such as golf days or community events, please contact Coach Shane Carr at 083 722 2704 or email shane@valhallammasa.co.za

“Your small donation or sponsorship could make a huge impact,” said Carr.
