St Declan’s School for Boys celebrated its successful sporting season.
The all-boys school enjoyed a standout sports season, with remarkable achievements across rugby and soccer in all phases.
In the foundation phase, the youngest learners enthusiastically participated in the Welpies Rugby Saturday friendlies and Mini Soccer matches every Thursday.

With five official fixtures and 10 games played, these early sporting experiences focused on skill-building, teamwork, and fostering a passion for the game.
The primary school soccer teams also delivered a powerful performance in the highly competitive JPSFA Knockout League, comprising over 60 schools per age group.

The U11 team advanced to the quarter-finals, the U10 team reached the semi-finals, and the U12 team powered through to the finals, positioning the players with the opportunity to finish as one of the top two teams in the league.
The high school level U14 soccer team qualified for the Independent Schools Soccer League and won six of its seven games, earning a place in the semi-finals.

In rugby, the first team impressed with a powerful season, advancing to the semi-finals of the Golden Lions Rugby Union (GLRU). The U15 team also had a superb run, making it to the finals.
“The consistency and determination on the field reflected in the school’s teams is a testament to the growing strength in our school sport, said Christopher Palmer, St Declan’s School for Boys’ head of sports.
“St Declan’s continues to promote a balanced, holistic approach to education, and this season’s sporting results are a proud reflection of the talent, commitment, and hard work of both learners and coaches,” added Palmer.
