Marais Viljoen netball team shines in championship

Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School recently competed at the SA netball championships.

The school’s U17 netball team competed in an early August tournament, where they displayed strength during the competition.

After five matches, the team finished first in their group.

In the Top 16 knockout round, they faced Hoërskool Zwartkop and secured a 13-5 victory. The quarterfinal saw them narrowly miss out with a 12-9 loss against Hoërskool Durbanville.

“We are proud to say they finished seventh overall in South Africa. To be among the top 10 teams in the country is a remarkable achievement. A word of thanks and congratulations to Antoinette Saaiman and Azelle Zietsman for their coaching and support,” said Hoërskool Marais Viljoen in a statement.
