The community gathered in high spirits as the Alberton Athletics Championships took place on February 14 and 16 at Laerskool Generaal Alberts, the host venue.

The championships brought together young athletes from across Alberton, Thokoza, Eden Park, and several private schools, celebrating determination, sportsmanship, and emerging sporting excellence.
Learners competed in a wide range of track and field events, including sprints, middle-distance races, relays, long jump, high jump, and shot put.

Organisers confirmed there were no overall results, as the Alberton Championships serve primarily to determine which athletes will progress to the upcoming district championships.
