Dinamika rugby star seeks support for Italy tour
Dinamika High learner Landon Wynkwaardt has been selected to represent the South African BRI Warriors U15 rugby team in Italy and is appealing for sponsorship to help make the trip possible.
Dinamika High School learner Landon Wynkwaardt is appealing for sponsorship after being selected to represent the South African Blue Runnings Sport International Warriors U15 rugby team on an international tour to Italy in December.
Landon from Brackenhurst was selected during a recent rugby tournament hosted by Hoërskool Menlo Park, where his skill, dedication, and on-field performance caught the selectors’ attention.
He was chosen as one of only five players in his age group to join the touring squad.
The upcoming Italy tour will provide players with the opportunity to compete internationally, gain valuable rugby experience, and participate in high-performance training and development programmes.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to travel to Italy and represent the BRI rugby team. Any support would mean a lot to my family and me, and I promise to represent everyone who supports me with pride and respect,” said Landon.

However, the opportunity comes with high financial costs, including international flights, accommodation, visa expenses, and participation fees.
He and his family are therefore reaching out to businesses, organisations, and community members for assistance in achieving his dream.
“Landon is a respectful and dedicated young athlete who works incredibly hard both on and off the field. My wife and I have been working tirelessly to raise funds for this Italy tour, and we hope the community will support him in achieving this dream,” said his father, Lincholn Wynkwaardt.
He has already established himself as a talented all-around athlete. Alongside rugby, he also competes in athletics and football.
Landon represents Dinamika High’s U15A rugby side and plays football for Alberton Football Club’s U15 Premier League team under the Easterns Football Association.
In athletics, he has excelled in middle and long-distance events, competing in the 800m and 1500m races. His strong performances earned him a place at the Greater Alberton Championships, where he narrowly missed district qualification.
Academically, Landon is equally dedicated and is currently one year ahead of his age group. His favourite subjects are mathematics, physics and geography, and he hopes to one day pursue a career as either a professional sportsman or a pilot.
Despite his growing achievements, Landon is known for his humility, discipline, and family orientation. He lives in Brackenhurst with his parents and two siblings, who continue to support his sporting journey.
The family has welcomed both full and partial sponsorships, as well as contributions towards specific tour costs. They believe the tour will not only benefit Landon’s sporting development but also contribute to his personal growth and future opportunities.
With his passion, determination, and commitment to excellence, Landon Wynkwaardt continues to make Alberton proud as he prepares to take his rugby talent onto the international stage.
