League is far from over, warns LRC coach
LRC coach Bandile Thindleni says the league is a marathon race and anything can happen as teams race to the finish line.
LRC might have lost in the table-topping clash against United Stars 2–1 but coach Bandile Thindleni firmly believes he is still in the race.
It was the display of cunning grit from his side in this game that showed his boys deserve the second spot they occupy on the league table.

Though coming from a sloppy performance against Amaskills that ended in a 0–0 stalemate followed by a loss at the hands of Alex Arsenal City. It’s this type of top-class performance against the River Park-based Stars that gave coach Thindleni a new lease of confidence in his race for league honours in the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association’s promotional championship.
“I am so thrilled that my boys woke up from their cocoon and gave United Stars a good run for their money. I am also sure they [Stars] did not expect the type of game we gave them, which was reinforced by the fact that we scored first,” Thindleni said in a post-match interview.
He added the league was a marathon tournament far from over as ‘we are still yet to begin the second round after a couple of games’. “There is a bright future for these boys and anything can happen as we race towards the finish line.”
Stars president cum-coach Sakhile Zulu admitted his side was given a hard run for its slender win but at the end of the day, a win is a win, no matter how slender it is. “I am happy for the boys as we continue to take one game at a time in this marathon league. It shows the kind of stuff they’re made of,” Zulu contended.
