Faizel is a multi-award-winning journalist. He began his career in journalism at a local community radio station before moving to EWN and doing some correspondence reporting for the BBC.
Faizel is the Vodacom Journalist of the Year Gauteng and National Winner 2022 in the Opinion Category.
He was nominated as the best news anchor and field reporter at the MTN Radio Awards.
Faizel has also received awards for excellent achievments in journalism from Adcock Ingram OTC, Sponsors of Brave, as a top journalist in South Africa for five years in a row from 2020 to 2025.
He is an avid tech reporter and reviewer hosting a tech show on a community radio station. He also features frequently on mainstream and community radio and TV channels in South Africa, providing updates on technology and other breaking news.
